A tour of Australia's largest gold producing mine the Super Pit is a must on your next Kalgoorlie-Boulder visit.
Feel what it's like to be a miner and throw on the provided hi-visibility vest, hard hat and a pair of safety glasses. Become visitor inducted to the KCGM Super Pit and view first hand the mining and milling operations from the safety of the Finders Keepers four wheel drive safari truck.
Be amazed by the size of the machinery (CAT 793 haul trucks) and watch a Komatsu PC 8000 face shovel load a haul truck from the internal lookout, Harvey Hut.
See the old miner's workings with old shafts visible in the Super Pit walls and gain an understanding of the ore processing as we drive through the Fimiston Milling Plant.
Did you know that, up to 800,000 ounces of gold a year are produced from the Fimiston Open Pit (Super Pit) and the underground operation Mount Charlotte. That's a lot of Gold!

This training day is all about learning how to use 'your machine' effectively, with the right settings to suit the different coil types.
Your trainer will teach you about indicators for gold and how to read the ground and rock formations to improve your chances of striking it rich.
Map reading, plotting and Global Positioning System (GPS) training's also covered, (if you have a GPS unit and you'd like to learn how to use it, bring it along).
Plus we'll teach you how to use resources to find potential gold areas. Basic legal requirements for prospecting in Western Australia (WA) and safety in the bush.
A cheap way to get everything you need to know and to give you the confidence to get started right.
Please Note: this is a tag along trip meaning you bring your own vehicle. You're responsible for having a spare tyre, fuel, water, food, GPS, etcetera.
It's also essential that your WA miner's right is brought along on the day as we need to sight it before departure.
If you have not yet obtained a WA Miners Right you can apply for one at any Department of Mines and Petroleum Office (currently AUD25 for life).
