Esperance & South Coast

When it comes to indulging your love of nature and nurturing your soul with clean air and scenic splendour, Esperance and the South Coast are your answer.

Visit this region of stunning coastal landscapes and you’ll find yourself recharged, energised and full of enthusiasm for life.
There is something so clean, so fresh and so invigorating about the air here that makes you want to breathe it deeply into your soul.

Perhaps it’s because this air has swept from the untouched waters of Australia’s mighty southern oceans. Or perhaps it’s because the landscape remains so pristine with sweeping expanses of flora-rich bushland carpeting most of the landscape.

Whatever the case, you can be sure a visit to this pristine wilderness will leave you feeling fully invigorated.

National Parks

Soak up the best of the region by heading to one of the many national parks. These areas of incredible natural beauty are renowned for harbouring one of the country’s most biodiverse ranges of plants – particularly lovely during the wildflower season from around September to November each year.

Many of the parks boast walking trails through areas of incredible scenic splendour. And many of them traverse areas of the wildly beautiful coast. From here you can stand atop a cliff and gaze out over the endless ocean before you. You’ll often spot seabirds soaring on the breeze and whales during their annual migration.

Beautiful Beaches

Visit Lucky Bay near Esperance, recently voted in November 2006 as Australia's whitest beach. Roll up your jeans and feel the snow-white sand squeaky clean between your toes. You may choose to take a boat cruise to the nearby Recherche Archipelago or maybe you’ll want to set out in four wheel drive along the beach?

Maybe you’ll try some bird spotting at the Munglinup Beach wetlands. Here a dazzling variety of water and migratory birds inhabit the nature-rich landscape.

Take time out from your exploring to enjoy the quaint charm of villages like Esperance itself, Hopetoun or Ravensthorpe.

Or jump in the car and head east, via Norseman – the Gateway to the Nullarbor - towards the South Australian border where you’ll find coastline so dramatically beautiful you’ll treasure its memory forever.
