The Holland Track and John Holland Way – Three days
Tackle the John Holland Way and Holland Track and embark on a real Australian outback adventure created by pioneer John Holland. Carved into the rugged bushland, this track connects Broomehill and the Goldfields.
Day one: Broomehill – Newdegate (200 kilometres/2.5 hours)
For a dose of history, start your adventure with a visit to the museum at Broomehill before hitting the road towards Nyabing. You'll pass by Lake Grace, a shallow salt lake with a superb lookout over the surrounding countryside. Continue through rich farmland, taking in Holland Soak and Silver Wattle Hill before arriving in Newdegate, known for its natural reserves.

Day two: Newdegate – The Breakaways/Sandalwood Camp (220 kilometres/3-4 hours)
Explore Emu Rock before crossing the Rabbit Proof Fence. If you're in a two-wheel drive, continue along the John Holland Way towards Coolgardie and stay overnight at The Breakaways camping area. For a real outback four wheel drive adventure, there's the option of the Holland Track, beginning in Hyden. This route to Coolgardie is 220 kilometres, but will take 5-6hrs, passing natural bushland and stunning rock formations.

Day three: The Breakaways/Sandalwood Camp – Coolgardie (250km/4-5 hours)
You can complete this epic journey through the remote outback via the John Holland Way or the four wheel drive Holland Track. Enjoy vistas of virgin bushland, salt lakes, nature reserves and granite outcrops.
Parts of the track are only suitable for high clearance four wheel drive vehicles and should only be attempted by confident drivers. Supplies and services are limited and road conditions can vary, so plan ahead, stock up on food, water and fuel and contact the local visitor centre for up-to-date track information.
