Cave to the Rave

21 Jun 2013 - 21 Jun 2013

Kalgoorlie WA 6430

Cave to the Rave: A Goldfields Arts Centre experience like never before! An exclusive event limited to 100 lucky people Drinks (beer, wine and soft drinks only) and canapés included in the ticket price; before the show, interval, after the show A Reserve (front row) $60 B Reserved $50.00 Cave To The Rave takes us from the earthen floor of prehistoric man to the polished parquetry of modern dance with a few side steps and knee slides along the way. It's a dance class for comedy beginners, intermediate and advanced. By the end of the lesson you will have learnt why it's not a good idea to crowd surf at a wiggles concert; understand just why women dance in a circle around their hand bags and find out why Jesus was eliminated in controversial circumstances from 'Dancing With The Stars.' Damian will indeed take to the stage with a series of ‘highly’ choreographed routines capturing the finer detail of everything from the sociology of the wedding dance floor, suspiciously funded fringe movement ensembles, unseen Youtube clips of So You Think I Can Dance auditions from around the world and a homage to the dance film genre that will have you wishing you never threw away your leg warmers. So strap your dance card to your wrist, pop on your leg warmers, find a partner and shimmy your way to this hilarious comedy! Come on, don't be a wallflower! Check this out!! https://sites.google.com/site/countryartswashowsonthego/sotg-2013/cave-to-the-rave-a-comedy-danceathon Damian Callinan is an award-winning standup comic, TV sketch show performer, broadcaster, actor and writer. He is best known to TV audiences for his roles on Skithouse, Before The Game and Comedy Slapdown as well as being a regular guest on Spicks 'n Specks. He is also a fixture on The Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala and is a regular on 774ABC Melbourne. This show is presented by Country Arts WA and Shows on the Go. Kevin Bloody Wilson - First of the FINAL Farewell Tours....Perhaps!

29 Nov 2013 - 29 Nov 2013

Kalgoorlie

Both Barrels Music and Westside Talent present Kevin Bloody Wilson In ‘First Of The Final Farewell Tours …perhaps’ The Kevin Bloody Wilson Show is not just a concert performance, for most, it’s a full on event and an opportunity to tick from your bucket-list a chance to see Australia’s most unique International comedy legend. If we were asked to nominate one individual to best define Australian humour, for most of us, the name Kevin Bloody Wilson immediately springs to mind. His recently released biography ‘DILLIGAF, The Life And Rhymes Of Kevin Bloody Wilson’ is a raucous, earthy, in depth look at perhaps one of the only Australian Comedians who has not bowed to the pressures of political correctness. Kevin Bloody Wilson’s story is remarkable. He has become a part of Australian Culture, a part of who we are and how we define ourselves. His DILLIGAF attitude is a quality to be envied. He’s been listed in Who’s Who, his entire body of work has been preserved for future generations with the National Film and Sound Archive in Canberra and his fan base stretches from Broken Hill to Buckingham Palace. It’s also a known fact that nobody tells Australian stories better than Kevin Bloody Wilson. His peers agree; “The world’s funniest Australian” Billy Connolly “I love Kev. My favourite is Livin’ Next Door To Alan.” Paul Hogan “Hello John, is the funniest song I’ve ever heard in my entire radio career.” John Laws Kevin Bloody Wilson is also the only international artist who can shift seamlessly between an outback pub to the hallowed halls of the London Palladium. His record sales are now nudging the four million mark. Without traditional media support, all of Kevin Bloody Wilson’s albums and DVDs have achieved Gold Sales status globally, with many reaching Platinum, and one, ‘Kev’s Back’, awarded an amazing quadruple Platinum. Kev’s recordings can be found in such diverse locations as Outback Australia to Antarctica. From Big-Rig road trains to the console of Prince Charles’ Aston Martin. It seems ironic that twenty-five years ago, Kevin Bloody Wilson was being arrested for performing his songs in public, yet on Australia Day in January 2010, he was officially nominated for Australian Of The Year for doing exactly the same thing. Well done Kev, you’ve done us proud. Don’t miss the legend at the Goldfields Arts Centre – Kev’s ‘First Of The Final Farewells’ tour!
