156 Dorakin Road, Quairading, 6383
Toapin Rise Farm is an olive grove, farmstead and family business situated 170km east of Perth, along the Pathways to Wave Rock self drive Trail in the Western Australian Wheatbelt and right next door to its namesake, Toapin Weir (approx. 5km north of Quairading, Western Australia).
Our 3,000 irrigated olive trees are surrounded by more traditional farmland, and our grove’s geographic elevation provides the most magnificent vista and views.
Olive Grove and Olive Oil Tasting Tour
Ros & Tarns (owners, sisters, farmers & olive oil lovers) personally host all visitors through their grove and olive oil tastings. Visitors get to wander through the olive trees and learn about how the trees are cared for, how the olives are harvested and how the trees are pruned. Many avid gardeners particularly love this part of the tour, because much of the tree care and pruning information can be applied to backyard gardens. Visitors are encouraged to try their hand at harvesting olives and pruning trees – it might not sound fun, but we haven’t met a person yet who doesn’t start smiling as soon as the olive harvesting rake gets turned on!
Once we have wondered through the grove, we head back to our tasting area which offers the best views of the grove and surrounding farm vistas. Here we take visitors through an olive oil education, teach you how to identify extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and give you some ideas on how to use it... including some you may not have thought of or expect!
A full tour + tasting session takes approximately 1.5hours, and costs $15 per person. Of course we are able customise tours based on physical fitness, interest and group size. Please also make sure you let us know of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
