Historic Hoover House was once home to Herbert Hoover, who went on to become the thirty-first president of the United States of America. The building has been completely renovated and today bed and breakfast guests can enjoy Hoover's legacy - three magnificent bedrooms now opulently decorated in period style, the grad dining rooms where mining deals were once negotiated and the tranquil views over the spectacular Goldfields landscape from the wide verandahs.

Guests can enjoy sitting on the verandahs or the wide green front lawn overlooking the modern open pit mine, for gold is still mined at Gwalia. As night falls and the stars emerge, the peaceful ambience on the back verandah overlooking Mt Leonora has to be experienced – you might even see a kangaroo!

You can take a 2 hour 40 minute flight from Perth to nearby Leonora, but the best way to get their from Perth is by road, via Kalgoorlie and the Golden Quest Discovery Trail. It’s a 2.5 hour drive to Hoover House from Kalgoorlie, or you can make it a 3 day trip and discover many Goldfields legends and icons along the trail.
