Following the discovery of a rich vein of gold by prospector Laurie Sinclair, Norseman was established in 1894, and many relics from Western Australia's gold rush history still remain. Today, the area is extremely popular among four wheel drive enthusiasts keen to explore the Nullarbor Plain, untouched temperate woodlands, rugged granite outcrops, ancient salt lakes and stunning displays of Western Australian wildflowers.
