Located 25 kilometres southeast of Merredin the Collgar Wind Farm covers 18,000 hectares and contains 111 turbines which generate enough power to supply 130,000 homes.
It is the largest wind farm in Western Australia by installed capacity.
The project location was selected for its unique topography, world class wind resource, favourable community rapport and proximity to the power grid. Wind power provides a natural, renewable source of energy and is playing an increasing role in reducing global greenhouse gas emissions.
Visitors are invited to stop at the interpretative information shelter located on Bulls Head Road.
