A small inviting heritage museum is attached to the visitor centre. It showcases items from the gold rush era as well as pastoralist and homemaking items from history. There are antiques and collectables as well as a rock and mineral collection.

There are many stories from the past to read and historical files, photos and books about the local area to go through.

Like many in town, the building itself is historical and used to be Sandstone's small grocer before being used as a tyre repair shop and now the visitor centre and museum.
