Temple Gorge Campground is a basic bush camping area on the east side of the Kennedy Range with picnic benches and two long drop toilets.
There is also a communal campfire surrounded by benches - this is the only place where campfires are permitted.
The dozen or so un-numbered campsites are of varying dimensions and can accommodate both tent and vehicle-based campers. Although rustic in style, the campsites are ample in size and reasonably level with a firm sandy base. They are suitable for people with disabilities, including visitors with mobility restrictions.
The campground is connected by walk trails (as well as by road) to the various hikes and attractions along the range. The Temple Gorge Trail and the Escarpment Trail both start and finish at or near the campground. The Escarpment Base Trail also passes by and can be followed to Draper's Gorge, Honeycomb Gorge or Sunrise View for a longer walk.
Temple Gorge Campground must be booked before you go for stays from 1 April 2026. Until then the campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Camping fees apply. Park entry is free to Kennedy Range National Park.
